Après avoir quitté Calypso, Ulysse, le héros mythique de L’Odyssée d’Homère, se retrouve seul sur l’île des Phéaciens. Dépouillé et méconnaissable, loin de l’image du grand guerrier de L’Iliade, il est accueilli par Nausicaa, la fille du roi Alcinoos. La princesse lui offre le plus précieux des cadeaux : l’hospitalité. Grégoire Letouvet nous propose un oratorio inspiré du passé mais ancré dans le présent, abordant des thèmes tels que l’identité, l’étrangeté et la reconnaissance.

lovemusic s'associe avec Les Plateaux Sauvages et Grégoire Letouvet pour cette nouvelle aventure opératique. En septembre 2024, nous commencerons par une résidence et deux représentations à Paris.

After leaving Calypso, Ulysses, the mythic hero of Homer’s The Odyssey, finds himself alone on the island of the Phaeacians. Stripped of everything that marked him as the great warrior from The Iliad and unrecognizable, he is welcomed by Nausicaa, the daughter of King Alcinous. The princess offers him the most precious gift of all: hospitality. Grégoire Letouvet presents an oratorio inspired by the past but rooted in the present, exploring themes of identity, strangeness, and recognition.

lovemusic is partnering with Les Plateaux Sauvages and Grégoire Letouvet for this new operatic adventure. In September 2024, we’ll kick things off with a residency and two performances in Paris.
